The program focuses on identifying blighted, abandoned, or donated homes and rehabilitating them into quality, attainable housing options for local residents.

How do I get Rental Housing?

Currently, Rutherford Housing Partnership (RHP) does not have any available rental properties. However, there are several resources in the community that can assist low-income families in need of affordable housing options. These resources include:

  • Housing Authority of the City of Forest City, which provides Section 8 rental assistance.

  • North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, which offers resources for homebuyers and renters.

  • Thrive4Health in Hendersonville, NC (with services in Rutherford County) which provides housing case management services.

  • Nchousingsearch.org which provides a searchable website for affordable rental units.

  • And NC211, an information and referral service provided by the United Way of North Carolina. You can go to nc211.org or simply call 211 on any phone.
